CORON: Hiking to Kayangan Lake, Coron Island, Palawan

_DSC0477
Kayangan Lake is our third destination for our second day in Coron. But to get there, We have to hike for a little over five minutes to get to a view deck. And another five minutes descend to the lake.
It’s a good thing that our boatman was also helping us carry our stuff as we ascent, because the staircase here is no push over. It’s made of natural rocks that’s been formed together to create the steps. Plus the uneven surface makes it more difficult to traverse. One wrong move could spell trouble. And, The steps are quite slippery, specially if its wet.

Making it to view deck. It’s here where you’ll see the infamous photo of Coron which most of the time, framed in postcards et al.

The thick clouds were not so cooperating while we were here, as a low pressure area was furiously brewing near Palawan. And, overcast of the islands deprived us of a great sunlight as we took photo of this enchanting landscape.

There’s a small cave in the view deck. Although we never bother to go inside to the end of the cave. It’s not that deep though, according to our boatman. One turn left and it’s dead end, He said.
We stayed here for a while taking pictures while catching our breath from the hike. At the same time savoring the spectacular view in front of us.
