CORON: Twin Lagoon, Coron Island, Palawan

_DSC0401
We have five destinations for our second day in Coron. And, the first is this Twin Lagoon. We had our breakfast here just before submerging into the water. Talking about how beautiful the place, the crystal clear water and looking as to how deep this lagoon actually is.

Taking pictures while some family members are still eating. I’m quite nervous for my camera. It felt like I’m going to loose my balance over the slender wooden bridge that connects the huts. I was like biting my lips every single steps, holding my gear so tight, while my heart was pounding really hard. Hehe… But since I don’t want to loose the opportunity to frame this magnificent place… I did it anyway. =)

The water is so clear, that I can visualize the boat like they were floating in the air. Which makes it a little scary, because just a meter from where our hut is standing, is a cliff like underwater, where we can’t see the bottom. I’ve done snorkeling before, but not in this kind of deep water. I was kinda nervous, but at the same time excited about what beauty this place has to offer me.

We swam at the other side of the lagoon. We have to climb a ladder to wall of rock formation then down the other side. But you can actually go beneath it, if the tide is low. My brother and our boatman actually goes under it, as it was slightly opening. Our boatman is an exemption here because he swim like a fish, and my brother who’s also wearing a life vest has been here before, and knows how far is that little arch.
The locals called the water in this place weird water. Because while you’re swimming you’ll sometimes encounter a hot stream of liquid flowing by you. The change in water temperature is not that frequent. But for me, I’ve experienced it in about four to five times in about 30 minutes of swimming in Twin Lagoon.
Since I don’t have an underwater camera,I borrowed these photo’s below from my brother Christian L. Sangoyo of www.lakadpilipinas.com to show you what’s in the other side and beneath the water of the lagoon.
