Coron: Maquinit Hot Springs, Palawan

What better way to end the day than to relax in a salt water hot spring. And yes, it’s salt water. I don’t know if there’s something like this in any part of the Philippines, but it’s sure is cool… I mean Hot. hehe.

The resort is about 30 minute, tricycle drive from Coron bay, Harbour Center. We’ve rented the tricycle for the two-way trip, as there’s no available trike to rent in the area when going back.

It’s already dark when we arrived. I was expecting of an ordinary pool of hot water, really. I wasn’t expecting that until to the last breath of our Itinerary. Coron would still give its best shot! And I can bet. This is not the “bestest”, if there’s such a word, that Coron can offer.

The saltwater hot spring has a natural stones underneath it, and medium size limestone around it. The spectacular landscape that they have incorporated with nature here was simply amazing.

The bridge inside the mangroves is awesome, especially to photographers and to the not so shy of the clicks. Hehe. The place is located at the very shore of the sea, besides the mangroves. They said that it is best experience to go here at full moon, since the resort closes at around 10pm. The water temperature is around 39 – 40 degrees.

After this trip, I can surely say that Coron is one of the ultimate summer getaways, if not in “The”, in the Philippines or in other parts of the world.
